Carpenter Assistant
About your role
The Carpenter Assistant works with different projects ensuring to finish within a timeline, including assisting in carpentry tasks and supporting the carpentry team in construction, renovation, and maintenance projects, ensuring quality workmanship and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting in Carpentry Tasks
- Assists in performing carpentry tasks such as measuring, cutting, sanding, and finishing wood and other materials under the supervision of senior carpenters.
- Helps with the construction, assembly, and installation of wood structures, including doors, windows, and cabinetry as required for renovations and repairs.
- Transports and arranges tools and materials required for carpentry projects to the worksite.
Material Preparation and Organization
- Prepares and organizes materials needed for carpentry work, ensuring that materials are cut to correct dimensions and stored appropriately.
- Assists in setting up workstations, including organizing tools and equipment, ensuring they are available and in good working order.
- Maintains an organized inventory of carpentry materials and equipment, ensuring nothing is missing and all materials are ready for use.
Support in Maintenance and Repair
- Helps with minor carpentry repairs in office spaces, branches, and other company properties, including fixing doors, cabinets, and furniture.
- Works under the guidance of skilled carpenters to learn proper techniques for various carpentry repairs and maintenance tasks.
Safety and Work Environment Maintenance
- Ensures the carpentry worksite is clean, organized, and free from hazards, complying with safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
- Follows all health and safety guidelines to minimize risk of accidents, ensuring that all tools and equipment are used safely.
- Maintains a clean and orderly workspace, cleaning up after each task is completed, and keeping work areas clear of debris and hazards.
Team Support
- Assists carpenters and project supervisors by providing support during ongoing projects, ensuring smooth workflow and timely project completion.
- Actively participates in team meetings, providing updates on the progress of carpentry tasks and communicating any challenges or issues.
Other Duties:
Performs other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
What we’re looking for
- At least high school graduate or attained a vocational course or its equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years relevant work experience in general carpentry works.
- Knowledge of building and construction
- Strong attention to detail
- Can work with minimum supervision
- Committed to deliver high quality workmanship
- Mental dexterity
- Physically fit with good eye-hand coordination
